First crossed in Texas with hopes of developing a sheep to
resemble the Alaskan Dall (both in body and horn size).
Over the years many crosses have been made even with Texas
Dall and true Alaskan Dall. This is the first ram species needed
to complete the Texas Slam (ROE)

Hawaiian Black rams will typically be solid black although they
may also have small areas of white or even brown. Due to their
striking color they are often sought after by hunters and are
also one of the four rams in the Texas Slam (ROE).

Another crossbred sheep developed in Texas for hunters, The
original cross was with Mouflon sheep and Barbados blackbelly
Today there are other crosses but most will be slick haired, with
a light to dark brown coat with black legs and bellys. Also one
of the four rams species in the Texas Ram Slam.

Mouflon Sheep will typically be brownish red with an eye
catching white saddle patch. These are usually one of the
harder sheep to hunt, as their sight is extraordinary. They are
also part of the Texas Slam (ROE).

Also called Rambo ram on many hunting ranches, the Merino is
a wool sheep originating in Spain. There impressive headgear
has made them a favorite for Texas hunters. Merino will
routinely tip the scales near 300#. (part of Bighorn Slam)

Catalina billies can very greatly in color, and be solid color or
multi-color. Horns will typically grow up and out giving them a
large tip to tip spread making them impressive trophies.
Catalina are one of the six species needed for the Bighorn Slam.

Aoudad are very wary and tend to stay in the most dense parts
of the ranch, making them the most difficult of all rams to hunt.
Rams with their thick bibs and chaps along with sweeping horns
make them an awesome trophy. Aoudad ewes have a very
similar look only with shorter horns and less mass.
